Rusko - “Raver’s Spesh”
Tear up your Saturday night with this monster.
We tend not to play much dubstep here on TWB, but I am pretty partial to a lot of Rusko’s work and am jamming to this track. I hear a lot of pretty terrible dubstep with people just jumping all over the bandwagon and putting way too much wobble and not enough thought into whatever they’re producing. Rusko’s remix of “Splash” by Sub Focus was one of the first dubstep tracks I really liked- the bass was way more interesting than just something wobbly. He is also known to pull out and jam on an electric bass during his live shows, similar to Glitch Mob’s move towards a mix of analog/digital instruments and live performance.
The chopped up vocorder’d vocal sample is absolutely funky and just begs for everyone to drop low and get freaky. I want to listen to it so loud that I need earmuffs so my ears don’t explode as lasers and strobes blow my eyeballs out.
